I have had many different careers in my life. House cleaner, retail sales clerk, cosmetic sales, fast food counter worker, waitress, receptionist, administrative assistant, Human Resources Assistant and lead vocalist for local duet, Sojorn and many other bands throughout the years. I enjoy being a Real Estate Agent the most of all of my careers (except maybe singing) because I love people and I love work that is challenging! Real estate is never boring and different every day! ~My first experience as a "Crisis Negotiator" was a young woman who refused to talk to any of the Police Officers at the scene. When I arrived, my Lieutenant asked me to see if she would talk to me...I tried and tried but she would not respond to anything I said. It was then I noticed how extremely neatly she had hung up her wash. That was my inspiration. I told her I KNEW she loved her family and that I wanted to help her. She screamed at me, "How would YOU know!" I explained that I was sure her love showed in many ways, but that I saw her love for her family in the way she hung her wash...it was only a few minutes until she opened the door and let me in to help her. I learned that most people give clues about themselves, but not everyone has the skill or the genuine concern to read and understand the clues. I look for them! And then use those clues to put MY CLIENT in the best possible position. In my almost 23 years with the Chesapeake Police Department, as the first female patrol officer, the first female Detective and the first female Sergeant, I honed the skills that I believe make me an exceptional Realtor. I am a true negotiator, investigator and skilled listener. I search out the information that you need to help you make good sound real estate decisions. I love working with people, helping them accomplish their goals, helping them avoid problems and helping them solve problems. I have always taken great pride in the services I perform, whether it is finding a lost child or finding you a home, it is my attention to details, my tenacious nature and my problem solving skills that will lead us to a "Happy Ending."
